Dan Keady.jpg

Dan Keady

Clinical Supervisor

Dan has a deep appreciation for how each of us carries our history in the form of traditions, values, hurts, and strengths. In his role as Clinical Supervisor, Dan guides others in the process of better understanding both the delights and hardships that occur when people from different backgrounds come together and how we can better understand and celebrate our histories while making room for each other.

Dan loves spending time with his two kitties and cooking gluten-free, grain free dishes.

Leela Hunter, MFT

Clinical Supervisor

I’ve been working in mental health for 15 years.  I began with a career in agency work supporting families with Autistic children.  Eventually I transitioned to private practice for individual psychotherapy, where I have been for the last 10 years. In addition to my practice, I also operated a group therapy program for the treatment of chronic pain for 8 years at a Functional Rehabilitation program in Oakland, CA.

It’s my conviction that the best way to deliver the powerful models of psychotherapy to my clients and students is to experience these models in my own life.  So, mental health — mental hygiene — is a cornerstone of my own wellness, and my own self-inquiry via Mindfulness meditation and personal psychotherapy is ongoing.

Betty Machaud, MFT

CLINICAL GROUP SUPERVISOR

I am a licensed Psychotherapist in the state of California and a supervisor at several psychotherapy agencies in the SF Bay Area.  The people I work with might be at a crossroads of their own, or are experiencing internal or external conflict and want more harmony within themselves and with others. Some people might have experienced deep wounding or trauma from their earliest moments.  Others may sense something is missing but they can't put their finger on what is the matter.

As a therapist, I strive to see you as you are, with your unique background, upbringing and experiences.

Anna Benassi, MFT

GROUP SUPERVISOR

I have been actively counseling couples of all shapes and sizes since 2008. As a clinician I will use any theory or method to help the couple get where they want to go whether it be pre-marital counseling to a conscious uncoupling.

I have studied many theories and have used an attachment lens systems neurobiological approach to anchor my work with couples. I am currently teaching Couples counseling at CIIS as an adjunct faculty member. In teaching Couples counseling I have noticed it is a combination of theories, interventions, assessing the couples culture and your own that I believe helps form a cohesive lens to address any couples system.

I hold a Masters in Integral Counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies and currently work with individual adults through the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy. I grew up in the Bay Area and have lived in San Francisco for about 20 years.

My favorite things to do include snuggling up with a good book, cooking, riding my bike, and exploring new parts of the city- especially if they involve a stairway and a view. I look forward to speaking with you and finding you a therapist.
