Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, License Number 77529

I believe that therapy is a powerful gift and an everyday basic need. We all need a safe place to think and feel, and to figure out our lives and relationships. I help people feel safe with therapy, and get to the heart of the matter quickly.

I have helped all kinds of working parents and working mothers find their footing. I am particularly interested in helping parents when they are wrestling with the dark and seemingly unbearable aspects of parenthood, and trying to learn to make their relationship fun and loving again. My style is non-judgmental, with a curiosity that helps move clients from suffering into strength. And as a partner in a relationship for over twenty-two years, raising two sons—I bring a kind of relationship experience to therapeutic work that can’t be acquired any other way.

I lead groups for mothers who are therapists and the special type of “nurture drain” that can happen with parents in nurturing professions.

I also work outside the parenting realm with corporate and entrepreneurial individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, or even substance abuse issues, often triggered by work or overwork. My training helps men and women face the psychological blocks that have gotten in the way of creating a work life that has meaning and balance. As founder of City CarShare and a social entrepreneur for years (Streetline.com, Senti.us), I understand burn-out, inspiration and leadership and the power of a healthy work-life balance.
